SAFE Program -- for senior residential community

The Specific Activity-Facilitating Exercises (SAFE) program addresses the factors of neurodevelopment associated with lifestyle
changes as we grow older.  Especially vestibular and proprioceptive changes -- functions that depend on movement -- often result in
significant decreases in safety.  The good news is the losses are reversible.  The SAFE Program is designed for a group structure,
and should be considered preventative rather than rehabilitative in nature: to prevent falls and other risks, thus facilitating (as the
name implies) safe and fun performance of meaningful activities.

 Features, details:

 - 4-week program @ 2X/wk (8 visits) of HANDLE activities and nutritional recommendations.
 - Site provided by the group, at a retirement facility's Activities Room or the recreation room of a senior residential community.
 - Visit 1 = approximately ½-hr. (per participant) with the Practitioner, to assess needs and precautions as seen in performance of the
 activities
 - Visit 2 through 8 approximately ½-hour group session under the supervision and guidance of a GET ABLE geriatric-trained
 licensed OT Assistant.
 - Group = 5 adults.  [Group of less than 5 requires special arrangements.]

How to get it: form a committed group of 5 and call or email GET ABLE to arrange a schedule.  Contract terms: each participant pays
for the full 4 weeks in advance.
