SCREENING service
Many people feel their lives are in some way out of control.. Others recognize that aspects of their performance skills --
interpersonal/social, academic or vocational, organizational, etc. -- take more effort than they'd like, and stress has become routine.
Some family members notice difficulties in their children, spouse, parent. An employee may seem unable to break free of behavior
patterns, identified on repeated Performance Reviews, that may put his job in jeopardy. And often, although ready to do something
about these issues, each of these people is not ready to commit to a 6-month Individual Therapy Program. For them, GET ABLE
offers a Screening Service.
Features, details:
What's involved? A brief (about ½ hour) observational assessment to identify key or primary areas of the individual's strengths and
weakness. Unlike the Individual Therapy Program's assessment, there is a minimum age for the Screening Service: the client must
be at least 5 years old.
Prior to the appointment, the client/family will complete a brief questionnaire about personal history and about behaviors seen at
home, to be presented to the
Screener in order for the assessment to begin.
Specific tasks -- a flexible protocol -- will enable the
Screener to see multiple sensory and motor elements of the client's repertoire of
skills. Based on the findings, the
Screener drafts a report and designs a basic therapy plan to address identified needs. This will
include movement-based activities and supplemental recommendations. The
Screener will instruct the client (and family if needed)
in all particulars, for home implementation.
